23 July 1965: An autopsy was scheduled to be performed this afternoon at the Good Samaritan Hospital to determine the cause of the death of Miss Sandra L. Fogelman, 19, of Richland RD 1. Miss Fogelman was killed instantly early Thursday afternoon when the car she driving ran off the road overturned in a cornfield. She was thrown approximately 40 feet from her car. Although the definite cause of death will not be reported until the autopsy is completed, Dr. E. 0. Moehlmann of Richland, deputy coroner, who pronounced the girl dead at the scene, said she had a broken neck and a broken arm. The accident occurred on Legislative Route 38007, approximately three and one-half miles north of Myerstown; at 1:15 p.m. Trooper Albert G. Gricoski of the Jonestown state police said the girl, who was alone, apparently lost control of the vehicle as she tried to negotiate a curve. Damage to the car was estimated at $800. Dr. Moehlmann is the same doctor who was in attendance when Miss Fogelman was born at the Lebanon Sanatorium on June 22, 1946. Miss Fogelman's death was the ninth traffic fatality in Lebanon County this year. Sixteen fatalities were recorded for the same period of 1964. Miss Fogelman was a daughter of Loron and Miriam Troutman Fogelman. She was employed at the Publix Shirt Co., Myerstown, and was a member of the Tulpehocken United Church of Christ, Millardsville. Besides her parents, she is survived by five sisters: Helen, wife of George Moyer, Rehrersburg; Ruth, wife of Henry Nepi, Lebanon; Loretta, wife of Paul Harnish, Richland; Miriam, wife of Carl Hibshman, Richland RD 1, and Shirley, wife of Philip Pfaltz, Myerstown. A foster brother, Donald Augustine, with the U. S. Army, and her maternal grandfather, Ira Troutman, Myerstown, also survive. [Lebanon Daily News]
