Alfred J. Pella, age 75, a resident of Pierz, MN, died September 18, 1996 at St. Mary's Villa in Pierz.
Funeral serivces were held September 20 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman with the Rev. Ron Dockendorf officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Alfred J. Pella was born June 21, 1921 in Pierz, the son of the late Ignatious and Madeline (Przybilla) Pella. He grew up and attended country school near Pierz. After completing his schooling, Alfred farmed for a couple years near Gotvald's Corner. He was united in marriage to Rose T. Kujawa on June 21, 1945 at St. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church in Gilman, MN. The couple purchased the family farm and farmed southeast of Pierz until retiring in 1979. Alfred continued to help his son farm until becoming a resident of St. Mary's Villa in 1993. Alfred was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Pella of Pierz; sons, James Pella of Pierz; daughters, Delores Pella of Pierz, Shirley Heinz and husband Harold of Little Falls, MN; brothers, Leo Pella of New Hope, MN and Lawrence Pella of Foley, MN; sister, Theresa Neuhring of Minneapolis, MN; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and many brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers were Donald Przybilla, Charles Watercott, Richard Boser, Sylvester Motschke, Jerry Heinz and Harry Heinz.
