Benjamin Allen Moore was born 11 February 1872 in Barber, Scott (now Logan County), Arkansas to Preston Parker Moore and Jane Gertrude Blair Moore. He was the youngest of the 5 children born to the couple. Siblings include, Lydia A. Moore [Cox] (1862), James Preston Moore (1863), George C. Moore (1866) and Andrew J. Moore (1869). He also had 11 half-siblings: William F. Moore (1842), Sarah Dupina Moore [Mitchell] (1844), John N. Moore (1847), Rebecca Elizabeth Moore [McKelroy] (1848) Armiza Jane Moore [Taylor] (1850), Tennessee Moore [Blair] (1852), Jehu M. Moore (1854), Mary Eliza Moore [McKelroy] (1854), Lucy Moore (1855), Alfred Moore (1858) and Robert Moore (1859). His older brother James Preston Moore married Sarah (Sallie) Rebecca Worley and after the death of Martha Ann Covey Worley in 1885 (the mother of Sallie and Fannie), Sallies' younger sister Fannie Bell Worley came to live with them. It was there that Benjamin fell in love with Fannie Bell and on 26 November 1893 they were married in Barber, Scott, Arkansas. They applied for their marriage license in Scott County on 23 November 1893. Both listed their place of residence as Crow, Arkansas. Benjamin was 21 years old and Fannie Bell was 17 years old. They were married three days later by J.F.Wade, Justice of the Peace. Ben & Bell were the parents of 7 children. Dora Etta Moore [Moore] (1894-1976), Perry Burnell Moore (1896-1960), Esther Mae Moore [Mooney] (1898-1979), Leonard 'B' Moore (1900-1987), Stella Lee Moore [Phillips] (1903-1997), Nellie Jane Moore [Phillips] (1905-1987), and a Stillborn Baby (1912-1912). Benjamin worked as a farmer until his death at the age of 68 years on 26 April 1940 in Mansfield, Sebastian, Arkansas. He is buried in the Pine Log Cemetery in Barber, Logan, Arkansas.
