Raymond married Donna Thompson in 1982. Donna survives of the home, two daughters, Karen Jean Gaumer and Janet Altenhofen, two sons-in-lawm twi grandsons two sisters, Reva Smith of Meadville, and Alpha Calhoun of Browning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Virgil and Clyde Alexander.

His obituary says he was buried in Maple Park cemetery in Aurora, Illinois, but could not find the cemetery.
