Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy B. Tibbs, 83, of Porter, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Mallett Chapel with Rev. C. J. Stump of Muskogee officiating. Mrs. Tibbs died Friday December 28, 1973, in the Ross Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.
Born April 15, 1890 near Porter, Oklahoma, Mrs. Tibbs was a lifelong resident of Wagoner County, living in the Porter and Vans Lake Community. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and was a member of the Vans Lake Home Demonstration Club.
Mrs. Tibbs is survived by five sons; Dink Tibbs and Glenn Tibbs, both of Porter, Bud Tibbs of Kent, Washington, Tony Tibbs of Jacksonville, Florida, and Eugene Tibbs of Bremerton, Washington; four daughters, Mrs. Annie Bumpass of Worland Wyoming, Mrs. Gladys Robertson of Porter, Mrs. Alta Hiner of Tahlequah, and Mrs. Yvonne Stewart, Jr., of Bartlesville; 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, directed by Mallett Funeral Home.
