Crespatown,Maryland --- Joreatha Catherine Sonner Duckworth, 86, of Cresaptown, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, in Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born May 23, 1914, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Lawrence and Effie Frances (Wright) Wright. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kenneth Duckworth, on Dec. 8, 1995; and by a brother, Lawrence E. Wright, in Oct. of 1999.

Mrs. Duckworth was retired from the Celanese and the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. She was a member of the A.A.R.P.

Surviving are her son, Phillip C. Sonner, of LaVale; one granddaughter, Jill Sonner, of LaVale; one Goddaughter, Mellissa B. Bauman, of Cumberland; and one sister-in-law, Sally Wright, of Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
