NORTH, BARBARA - Patty--Barbara North, wife of W. L. North, was born in Tennessee, November 19, 1841 and departed this life Jan. 22, 1912. She had been ill only eight days. She was united in marriage to Jonathan Stager May 13, 1858. To this union eight children were born, Mrs. Elizabeth Schaefer of Geneva, Ind., Mrs. Lieusettle Burris of Geneva, Ind., D. S. Stager, M. J. Stager and William J. Stager all of Laura, the other three having preceded their mother to the other world. She was united in marriage to Washington Irvin North, July 1, 1880. To this union two children were born, R. G. North and Mrs. Hettie Blackmore both of Laura. She untied with the Christian church when only 14 years old and was baptized in 1858. In the year 1898 she transferred her membership to the Laura Christian church. She was a loving and kind mother ever ready to give a helping hand to her children and others. She was loved by all who knew her. She always had a kind word for all she met. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, seven children, 21 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Hance of Spencerville, O., assisted by Rev. Enos Pemberton of West Milton, were held at old Ludlow church, south of Laura, Thursday, Jan. 25. Interment at Old Ludlow cemetery.
