Disa, with her husband, John Graham Wilson, were early pioneers of Saunders County Nebraska. They traveled by covered wagon with their children and other family members in 1873 to Saunders County were they homesteaded land. Disa and her twin, Liza were born in Owen County Indiana. Her obituary in the North Bend Eagle July 9, 1931 is an excellent summary of her life. It memorialized her as being a hard working and well respected and loved woman. It is much too long to print on FAG. One particular story referred to as one of Grandma's favorite stories, was at age 4 she and her siblings lost their Mother, therefore she had no recollection of her Mother. Four years later her Father, William Carter, remarried. All the children lined up at the windows the day the father brought home his bride on horseback and rode three times around the house at what was known as an "Infair." Disa lived to be 93 years old. Her grandson, Milford Schuler, lived with her.
