Virgil Frank Farar, 52, died Friday morning, April 14, 1972, at his home after an apparent heart attack. Funeral services were held at 2:20 p.m. Monday in Hersman Funeral Chapel with Reverend James D. L. Moore, past of the Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. An American flag was presented to the family by American Legion Post 153. Pallbearers included Alex Stark, Richard Murphy, Bill Swan, Tom Wise, Dr. James W. Lindsay and Eugene Hunt. Born December 11, 1919, in El Dorado, Kansas, Mr. Farar came to Wagoner in 1955 from Wainwright. He owned the Farar Tank and Pipe Company in Wagoner until two years ago. He was employed as a contractor. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion. Among survivors are his wife, Leeola Irene of the home; three sons, Orval Carl, Frank Joe and Thomas Harrison, all of Wagoner; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Rowe of Tulsa; two sisters, Thelma Beattie of Tulsa and Emma Dixon of Tulsa and two grandchildren.
