He was a native of Berrian County, Ga. He had made Crescent City his home since 1984 moving there from Jacksonville. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, in the construction trade. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pomona Park.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel Bass of Crescent City; daughters, Dorothy Scott of Jacksonville and Martha White of Newport News, Va.; brothers, Walter Bass of Jasper, Ala., and Fred L. Bass of Phoenix City, Ala.; sister, Ruby Cooper of Jasper, Ala.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fiurst Baptist Church of Pomona Park with the Rev. Gary Munson officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery in Crescent City.
