Funeral services for Marion Franklin Blagg of Calumet were held Saturday, April 11 in Red Rock United Methodist Church, south of Calumet, with Rev. Michelle McCarty officiating. Burial was in the Red Rock Cemetery. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Marion died April 8, 2009, at his home. He was born Dec. 17, 1927, in El Reno to his parents, Marion Francis and Thelma (Ridenour) Blagg. Marion was a lifetime resident of Canadian County and had attended the Blue Ridge Rural School. He was married to Maxine Butler on Aug. 6, 1948, at her parents home in Oklahoma City. Marion was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Red Rock United Methodist Church.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Bill Blagg.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Blagg of the home; a son, John Blagg of Calumet; a daughter, Teena Tech and husband, Jodie of El Reno; grandchildren, John Newby and wife, Trisha, Jeff Hollis, Tad Hollis and wife, Brandy, Tanner Blagg and wife, Abby, Rachell Blagg Kennedy and husband, Bryan, and Suzanne Blagg; great-grandchildren, Gage Butler Newby, Cora Mae Newby, Jacob Ryan Rodgers, Taylor Blagg, Tabre Laine Hollis, Loagin Jean Hollis, Daeton James Hollis, Britley Ryen Tucker, Payton Annette Blagg, Devin Cole Hollis and Cayden Wayne Hollis; other relatives and many friends.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Red Rock Cemetery Association, 4205 S. Cedar Road, Calumet, Okla. 73014.
