Parthenia Linnie DeSART was born in Silverton, August 5, 1866, the daughter of George and Melissa DeSART, who crossed the plains from Illinois, arriving in Oregon in 1865.
She was married in the first Methodist church, Salem, in 1888 to John E. MURPHY, who operated the Salem Tile factory for many years. To the couple were born 10 children, 9 of whom survive. MURPHY died in 1923.
She was later married to William H. MORRIS, who died in 1943. Mrs. MORRIS was a life-long member of the Methodist church.
