Ocala - Mr. Alan Ray Robnett, age 78, of Ocala, Florida, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Sylvia's House Hospice of Ocala. He was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas and moved to Ocala in 1993 from California. He retired after working 25 years as a yard foreman with the Union-Pacific Railroad. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and loved traveling cross country and cooking. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Robnett. He is survived by his son, John Robnett of California; his (3) sisters, Sammie Petross of Yantis, TX.; Pat Kenney of Grand Prairie, TX. and Joann Robnett of Roswell, N.M.; numerous nieces and nephews and his Caregiver, Dorothy V. Whitlatch of Ocala, FL. There will be a committal service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. at a later date. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sylvia's House Hospice, 2895 S.E. 62nd Street, Ocala, FL. 34480, in memory of Mr. Alan Ray Robnett. Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel West, 6241 S.W. State Road 200, Ocala, FL. 34476
