He died Tuesday in St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness.
He had been a resident of Monroe for 45 years, a member of the Southside United Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Belle Cotton Peters and Mrs. P. A. Poag, Jr., both of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews.
