Esther Agnes Mezger, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in Atoka, Okla.

She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Raymond, Kansas to Michael and Nettie Starr Malone, where she lived until moving to Oklahoma in 1962.

She married Lawrence W. Mezger in Chase, Kansas on Aug. 15, 1936. He preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1980.

She was a homemaker and housewife who loved to sew, quilt, garden and help others. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee, Okla., United Methodist Women, and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Lenora Sherman and Josephine Rose.

Survivors include: her brother, Thomas Malone and wife, Wanda, of Weed, Calif.; children, Gary Mezger and wife, Nicki, of Wichita, and Judy Elliott and husband, Mike, of Atoka, Okla.; grandsons, Brad Elliott, of Atoka, Okla., Kert Mezger and wife, Janice, of Broomfield, Colo., Derk Mezger, of Rockwall, Texas, and Dustin Elliott and wife, Jerri, Tulsa, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Whitley Elliott of Arizona, Bradley Elliott of Atoka, Okla., and Bryn and Cole Mezger, of Broomfield, Colo.

Services will be Monday, March 30, 2009, 10 a.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel in Hutchinson, with the Rev. Dee Ann Mezger officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, near Raymond, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to Atoka First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 563, Atoka, OK 74525 or to a favorite charity.
