Mrs. Ella Lou Beard, 84, resident of Old Leiper's Creek Road, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Columbia Care and Rehabilitation.

A graveside service was conducted Thursday at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Brother Joseph Rhodes officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Frank Beard and Nervie Beard. On July 3, 1935 she married Enoch Beard who preceded her in death July 1, 1995. Mrs. Beard was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of Johnson's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons Robert Beard and Wayne Beard both of the Bethel Community; one daughter, Sadie (Charles) Armstrong of Fairview; five grandchildren, Darlene Crafton, Lisa Holt, Perry Mack Beard, James Armstrong, Wanda Wilkins; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Enoch Beard, Jr., Milton Troy Beard and an infant son; two daughters, Ella May Beard and Lou Jenny Beard; and one granddaughter, Mary Lou Armstrong.
