She was born January 12, 1920 in Springville, Utah to Clifford Jay and Ellen Lee Averett.
She married Don Carlos Hjorth on September 25, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Louise was an active faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught in Primary and Jr. Sunday School for many years and also in Young Women. As a teenager, she was an usher at Rivoli Theater in Springville. She was a valiant protector of her children.
Louise is survived by her children: Nolene Hjorth Sumsion (Calvin), Ellen Hjorth Thoreson, Diane Hjorth Kropf (Steven), Charles Lynn Hjorth (Marlene); 28 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Janie Hjorth (Don). She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Don, her parents, her twin sister Lucille, her sister Ione, and her son-in-law Norm Thoreson.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton North Stake Center at 475 North 1600 West in Mapleton. There will be a viewing held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary at 82 West 400 North in Mapleton, and at the Church on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
