Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Markham officiating.
He was born in Caswell County, N.C., on December 21, 1920, a son of the late Van W. Daniel and Virginia Badgett Daniel.
Van was a life long resident of Caswell County and graduated from Cobb Memorial High School, Lees-McCrae College and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He was retired from sales and management. He was a former member of the Danville Lions Club and the Caswell County Ruritan Club.
Van served on the first Hyco Lake Commission and was a member and former deacon of Bethesda Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was an avid local historian and greatly enjoyed conversation with friends and family. Van was a loving father and husband.
On March 21, 1942, he married Carolyn Lamb Daniel and their 67th anniversary was this past Saturday.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Lamb Daniel.
Van is survived by his wife, Carolyn and a son, Dr. Van W. Daniel, III of Wise, Va.
