Rita was born July 29, 1930 to Evelyn and the late Ed Duquette.
On Nov. 14, 1947, she married Tom Monesmith of Wenatchee. Born to Rita and Tom were three children, Tina, Pamela and Joseph.
She attended Wenatchee area schools and worked primarily at Northgate Hospital in the medical field.
On March 12, 1959, she married Les Carter of Wenatchee. Together they moved to Redmond where she lived the remainder of her years.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Ed Duquette, her husband, Les Carter and infant daughter, Susan Carter.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Tina and Morrie Sachsenmaier of Snohomish and Pamela Kursave of Moses Lake; one son, Joseph Monesmith of Wenatchee; her mother, Evelyn Duquette of Everett; a twin brother, Robert Duquette, Sr. of Spokane; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her Siamese cat named Baby.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000,
11:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Mausoleum at the Wenatchee Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Marjorie Farrens.
