"Mrs. Evie Olive Smith, widow of John C. Smith died Monday, (January 9, 1950) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D.C. Blackmon, 206 North Eighteenth St, following a long illness.
Mrs. Smith was born at Sandusky, N.Y. and moved here three years ago from Arcade, N. Y. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Arcade.
Surviving besides her daughter are two sons, N. Reid Smith, Utica, N.Y. and H. Elon Smith, Bradford, Pa.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at the Halwig Funeral Home Thursday morning (January 12, 1950) at eleven-thirty o'clock. The Rev. Robert A. Delorme, pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church will officiate. Further services will be held at two o'clock at the Congregational Church at Arcade and burial will be at Sandusky, N.Y."
