Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Norine Pendleton McFarlane, returned to her heavenly home on April 6, 2009 at Alta Ridge Assisted Living Center in Sandy, Utah surrounded by the love of her family. We will miss her dearly, but find peace knowing she is reunited with her parents, siblings, daughter and beloved husband Melvin McFarlane.

Norine was born on December 27, 1915 in Cedar City, Utah to Calvin Christian and Vivian Stapley Pendleton.

She married Melvin McFarlane on June 28, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother, excelling as a mother and homemaker. Throughout her life, she gave great service to those around her. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of and love for our Savior Jesus Christ and his Gospel, as exemplified by the life she lived.

Norine is survived by four children and their spouses, her son-in-law Tom May, Spokane; Melva and Darrel Dixon, Salt Lake City; Dan and Mary McFarlane, Spokane; Gayle and Roger Summerhays, Salt Lake City; and Gary and Annette McFarlane, Spokane; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother Alan and wife Beverly and sisters-in-law, Virginia, Delpha, and Beth, also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Mel, daughter Jan, brothers Ken and Dee, and her parents.
