Probably born in Bray, Berkshire, about 1606 (deposed 2 December 1658 aged "about fifty-one years;" deposed 1 November 1670 aged sixty-three years), son of William and Sarah (_____) Hathorne of Binfield, Berkshire. Soldier from Bray, Berkshire who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1633. First settled in Dorchester; moved to Salem in 1637. Died in Salem April 1681.
Married by 1634, Ann _____. She survived him.
Sister Elizabeth Hathorne married RICHARD DAVENPORT. Younger brother John Hathorne had arrived in Salem by the early 1640s.
