Garland Rex Carlton, 70, of Marble, Arkansas, died April 6, 2009 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born July 30, 1938 at Low Gap, Arkansas, the son of Doy and Opha Keeton Carlton. He was a timberman, a farmer and a Christian. He had also served in the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruby Boen Carlton of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Yvonne Carlton and Scott and Tara Carlton, all of Marble, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dean Routh of Marble, Arkansas; three sisters, Betty Lackey and Brenda Folks, both of Low Gap, Arkansas and Oma Lea Baldwin of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one grandson, Jacob Carlton of Marble, Arkansas and four granddaughters, Kaela Hawkins, Caitlyn Routh, Addisyn Routh and Anna Jade "A. J." Carlton, all of Marble, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, April 10, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverends Craig Villines and Lonnie Burks officiating. Interment will be in the Low Gap Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Mike Banks, Ricky Cline, Mike White, Danny Jackson, Mike Dennis and Doug Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers will be: George Bearden, Jerry Morrison, Paul Yarbrough, Michael Meyers, Jay Miller and his grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
