Doris M. Weeks, age 79, of Loomis died on Thursday, April 22, 1999 at home in Tonasket. She was born on March 3, 1920 in Webster, Co., MO, to parents Andrew and Laura Mae Denney. As a young child, the family moved to Arkansas and this is where she was raised and attended school. At the age of 16 she moved to Omak with a sister. On May 28, 1938 she married Charles H. Weeks in Omak. They lived in Omak for the first five years of their marriage then in 1944 they moved to Loomis. Together they began in the orchard business, leasing an orchard for eight years and then purchasing their own orchard in Loomis. Doris worked in the apple industry for over 40 years, not only in the family orchard but also at various apple warehouses in the area. Her husband preceded her in death in 1986. Doris remained at the home in Loomis until 1998 when she moved to Tonasket to be with her son, Ron. Family was very important to Doris, but her first love was the Lord.

Surviving relatives: one son, Ron and his wife Sally of Tonasket; two daughters, Susie Gavin and her husband Gary of Wenatchee, Carolyn Knutson and her husband Sam of Spokane; two sisters, Clyda of Oklahoma and Melissa of Arkansas; one brother, Gale of Tonakset; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at 4 p.m. at the Loomis Community Church with Pastor Matt Sconce officiating. Interment will be at the Loomis Mt. View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Universidy of Washington Alzheimer's Fund, 1325 4th Ave., Ste. 2000, Seattle, WA 98101-2506 or the Loomis Community Church.
