James Pipkin of 495 Cannon Bridge Road, 62, husband of Gladys Pipkin, died
Wednesday evening, July 14, 1999, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in
Columbia.

Born June 1, 1937, in Andrews, he was a son of the late Lowell Pipkin and Loye
Terry Pipkin. He attended Harmon Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Churcch. He was
owner-operator of Orangeburg Auto Salvage. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a
veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, a Shriner, and a Mason.

Survivors besides his wife of Orangeburg include a brother, Charlie Pipkin of
Andrews, four sisters, Mary Pipkin, Lila Tanner, and Ruth Knight, all of Sumter,
and Frances Lier of Greenville; and a number of nieces ane nephews.

Funeral servises will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harmon Memorial Pentecostal
Holiness Church with the Rev. Charlie Snipes officiating. Burial will be in
Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be members of the official church board.
