Donald married Caroline Schmidt in 1939 and they had a three children Robert, Velma and Duane (died in 1948). Caroline died and Donald was remarried Elinor Rathje Bedford in Nov 1967.
He was a stepfather to Elinor's children from her first marriage Walter, Ronald, Jeffery and Nancy, their father was the late Howard Bedford.
Survivors are his son, daughter and eight grandchildren.
