Son of William Joseph and Francis Rogers Lane. Martin married (1) Hellon Jane Coleman, and (2) Sue Alice Baxley.

MARION - Martin Lane died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday at a local hospital after a long illness. Born Oct. 14, 1886, he was the son of the late Rev. William and Fanny Rogers Lane of Marion County.

Mr. Lane was twice married. His first wife was the former Miss Helen Coleman, of this union there were five daughters, Mrs. Joe Tanner and Mrs. D. J. Atkinson, both of Marion, Mrs. Frank Tindal of Gibson, NC, Mrs. Ernest Brown of Sumter and Mrs. Ralph Willey of Baltimore, Md., survive.

His second marriage was to the former Sue Baxley of Marion who survives with two sons, Melvin Lane of Greenville and Frank Lane of Raleigh, NC; and one daughter, Mrs. Hal Stanley of Marion.

Also surviving are one brother, Walter Lane of Marion; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Baxley of Marion; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today from Smith Brothers Chapel by Rev. Paul Batson Jr. Burila will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
