Marjorie E. Hendrickson, 88, of 701 Rouse Ave., Youngsville and formerly of Old Pittsfield Road, passed away at 8 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Rouse Warren County Home.
Mrs. Hendrickson was born in Brokenstraw Twp., Warren County, on July 24, 1920, the daughter of the late William and Alice (Atkins) Abplanalp. She was retired from Abplanalp's Restaurant, where she had worked for many years as the Day Cook.
She was a former member of Evangelical United Methodist in Youngsville, and most recently had attended the chapel services at the Rouse-Warren County Home. She was a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Warren where she played the violin, and the Warren Conservatory of Music.
She was the widow of Clair B. Hendrickson.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia H. Vavala of Irvine, Pa.; two sons, C. William Hendrickson of Pittsfield and Dean E. Hendrickson of Warren; one sister, Zelma McAllister of the Philadelphia area and one brother, Jack (Florence) Abplanalp of Youngsville, Pa. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Chrispell and Mary Lawson; one brother, William Abplanalp; and a grandson, Eric Hendrickson.
