Graveside services were held Wednesday for Nona Burleson, 90, of Gatesville, in the Masonic Cemetery. She died Tuesday at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Officiating was Rev. Harvey Ozmer.
Nona Burleson was born July 11, 1894 to George and Alice Leatherman Hackney in Gatesville. She was reared and attended school here. She married Rufus Burleson on Nov. 6, 1917. She and her husband spent most of their married life in the Hackney community. Mr. Burleson preceded her in death in 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Methodist Church in Gatesville.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Burleson of Houston and Mrs. Roy (Lowrey) Baskin of Waco; three grandsons and three great-grandsons.
