Catherine Kough Wagoner, for many years a resident of Saltillo, and widow of George J. Wagoner, a Civil War veteran, died at her home, January 29, 1930. Deceased was born near Saltillo, September 29, 1839, and was aged 90 years, 4 months at the time of her death, being the last of a family of eleven children. She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Kough, pioneers of this locality. Aunt Kate, as she was familiarly known to all, was very active, living alone and doing all her own work, and was ill but a few days. She was married to George J. Wagoner, February 14, 1865, who passed on a number of years ago. Three sons survive, Frank of Baltimore, MD; Will of Colesgrove, PA; Jesse of Dravasburg; and Austin of Adel, Iowa, who preceded his mother a few years ago; also a number of grand and great grandchildren. She united with the Church of God at an early age and continued the faith till death. Rev. Daihl of the Walnut Grove church gave the sermon from Psalm 116:15. Many friends and relatives came from afar to the services. Interment in Saltillo Cemetery.
