Ruby Lee (Helms) Furr, age 97, of Concord, N.C., departed this life April 3, 2009 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, N.C.
Born November 25, 1911 in Union County, NC, he was the daughter of the late Cul Pepper Helms and the late Martha (Newsome) Helms.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lum C. Furr and a son, J.C. "Buster" Furr.
She is survived by her Daughter-Lucille McDonald of Concord, N.C.; Daughter-Geneva Garmon of Easley, S.C.; Daughter-Avie Helms of Concord, N.C.; Daughter-Rachel Helms of Charlotte, N.C.; Son-Bobby H. Furr of Concord, N.C.; Brother-Jack Morgan of Rock Hill, S.C.; Fifteen grandchildren
Twenty Seven great-grandchildren; Seven great-great grandchildren
She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church - Concord. She was an avid gardener.
The family would like to extend their heart-felt appreciation to the many friends and caregivers for their loving care of their mother over the years.
The family will be meeting at the home.

Funeral service will be at Oak Ridge Baptist Church - Concord at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 7, 2009 , Rev. Jimmy Hall and Rev. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt officiating.
Interment will be at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord, N.C.
