Services for J.C. "Al" Alford, 79, of Lake Cherokee, will be 10 a.m. today, April 6, 2009, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Alford died April 2, 2009, at a Longview nursing facility.

Born November 23, 1929, in Walton County, Fla., he was an agent for Ministers Life Insurance Co. and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Delores Alford; and children, Ronnie Alford, Bruce Alford, Steven Alford, Greg Hurst, Tim Hurst, Sheila Waldrop and Sheree Collins.
