"AMES, Spencer F --- 63 years of age passed away September 11, 1965 at the Horton Nursing Home. Mr. Ames, who was born in Tolt, Washington on October 18, 1901, was a retired welder from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and entered the nursing home in May of this year. He was a member of the William H. Upton Lodge No. 206, F. & A. M. of Bremerton. Survived by his wife, Gladys F. of the family home at 145 S. Wycoff, daughter, Mrs. Paul (Loraine) Atkins of Hoquiam; son, George E Ames of Bremerton; sister, Mrs. Minnie Harrier of Lakewood, Washington and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Lewis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 14, 1965 with Reverend Marion Brown officiating. The family have suggested contributions to the Memorial Fund of the Unity Center in lieu of flowers."
