Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph C. (Sarah Elizabeth (Barber) Casaver), 80, pioneer Wagoner resident, were held today at 2:30 p.m. in the First Christian Church. Mrs. Casaver was born in Mexia, Texas the daughter of James Monroe and Sarah Emoline (Wood) Barber. She came to Wagoner at the age of 12 and had been a member of the First Christian Church for the past 40 years. Rev. William Greene, pastor, officiated at the services.
Survivors are one daughter; Miss Edith Casaver, Wagoner; one son, Ted H. Casaver, El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Howard, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Bertie Gibson, Ada; Mrs. Mary Hollis, Pryor; two brothers, Niles Barber, Tulsa; Rev. D. D. Barber, Ardmore; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman Funeral Home, Wagoner. Honorary pallbearers were E. G. Avery, E. W. Carr, Norvin Childress, Harry Fender, Loyd Huggins, Judson Jones, John Lamon, Herbert Luellen, Kay Piersall, Bayless Rutherford, and Claud Sparks. Active pallbearers were Lester Foutch, T. P. Giacomini, Floyd Luellen, Bob Hill, Pete Stauss and Gene Shearer.
