Minnie, second wife of Murdock M. Baker make application #44017 for Widow's Pension for his service in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War. She filed on 8 Sep 1928 receiving $25.00 per month commencing 1 Sep 1928. In her application she stated she was born 14 Dec 1860 in Larkinsville, Alabama; currently 67 years old and lived in Texas for 53 years, and that she and Baker married in Houston County, Texas on 3 Sep 1885. Her residence at time of application was 249 South Main, Paris, Texas where she was living with her daughter, Laura and son-in-law, Carter Anderson.

Death Calls Mrs. Minnie E. Baker; Service Tuesday - Mrs. Minnie E. Baker, 76 years old, died at 5:20 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carter Anderson, 249 South Main Street, where she had been ill. A short service was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence by the Rev. Homer T. Fort of First Methodist church, and the body was taken by Emerson-Brown-Roden funeral home to Crockett, Mrs. Baker's former home. A service will be held there Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of another daughter, Mrs. George Denny, and burial will be made at Greenwood cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Mrs. Baker, who was born December, 1960, is survived by two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Denny, Harry M.
