Ray was born March 2, 1917, in Hamilton, Ohio, and died peacefully March 3, 2005. He was 88. Ray was married on August 29, 1942, to his wonderful wife Kathryn Anderson of 52 years. Kathryn passed away on August 7, 1994. Ray served in the U.S. Army between 1943 and 1946, as a member of the 942nd Topographic Aviation Engineers and retired from the Bremerton Naval Shipyard. Ray was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and a strong supporter of the PLU Student-Scholarship program.
