My Aunt.
On Sunday, March 30, 2008 God extended his almighty hand of love and gently took Sister Eugenia H. Harrison to a home of joy, peace and happiness.
She was born on May 21, 1933 to the late Mrs. Eunice Hurley Henry and the late Clifton Hurley in Washington, D.C. She received her education in the district Public Schools, graduating from Cardozo Senior High School.
She was joined in holy wedlock to the late Larry J. Harrison in Washington, D.C. God blessed this union with three sons and a daughter
At a very early age she joined the Grant’s Hill Baptist Church where she attended as often as she could.
Eugenia was employed by the Library of Congress where she worked in the Serial Records Division for 39 years. She was a dedicated and dependable worker. She also received many awards and certificates for outstanding leadership.
After retiring, she spent her time helping and serving anyone who needed her. She loved to cook and entertain and quite often invited most of the neighborhood in to join in for a big feast. She was kind and gentle and loved to listen to spirituals every Sunday morning.
Eugenia leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Michael Henry (Cookie) of Lanham, MD; Kevin Harrison and Albert Phillips of Washington, D.C. and one daughter Gloria Crisp of Rocky Mount, NC; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two sisters, Roberta Hickman of Washington, D.C. and Isabell Jones of Lexington Park, MD. A very devoted niece Lavern Porter of Capitol Heights, MD and many other relatives and friends.
