Kenneth Wayne Adcock 1924 - 2009 Greenlawn Southwest Graveside Services for Kenneth Wayne Adcock will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. Kenneth was born on July 4, 1924 to parents, Fletcher and Edith in Ramona, Oklahoma and went to be with the Lord on March 29, after a short bout with cancer. In May of 1942 Kenneth married his high school sweetheart Clara Gladys Wells, shortly thereafter, they moved to California. In 1944, he joined the Marine Corps., and served as a motor pool mechanic during WWII, mostly in China. He worked for Haberfelde Ford & Jim Burke Ford, where he was known as "Pop", retiring in 1986. He was also self-employed, owning a garage on So. H & Taft Hwy., then on So. Union Ave. for 20 years. Kenneth and Clara attended Liberty Christian Center. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Clara Gladys; daughters, Clara Grace Boyd and husband, David; Rebecca Dawn Maynard and husband, Stan; 3 grandsons, Michael and Matthew Edmondson and Richard Boyd; 2 granddaughters, Lura & Leanna Maynard; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Grace Tate of Bartlesville, OK; brother, Delmer of Ramona, OK; 2 brothers-in-law, Sam Wells of Yorba Linda, CA, and Pete Harris of Bakersfield. Also surviving Kenneth are numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends across the country. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Pallbearers will be Michael Edmondson, Matthew Edmondson, Stan Maynard, Richard Boyd, David Boyd and Daniel Wienheimer. Kenneth was the most caring, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend anybody could ask for. Donations may be made in Kenneth's memory to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society . Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. also at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary.
