EDWIN M. HAMLIN ANSWERS SUMMONSEdwin M. Hamblin, one of the well known retired farmers of this city, passed away at his home on East Fayette street Monday evening, following an illness of more than four months. Funeral services will be held at the family home Thursday afternoon, at 2:30. Rev. Mr. Beatty will have charge of the services. Burial services will be in charge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery.Mr. Hamblin was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, October 16th, 1850. When he was eighteen months old his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hamblin, came to Delaware County, and located on a farm near Delhi. Later the family located on a farm in Milo township.Mr Hamblin was united in marriage with Miss Sadie Brownell, on December 14th, 1873, their marriage taking place in Milo township To them were born five children; Mrs. M. G. Hetherington, and Bert and Howard Hamblin, all of Manchester. Two daughters passed away in infancy. Besides the wife and three children Mr. Hamblin is survived by two brothers, C. G. Hamblin of Hanford, California, and who spent a few days in Manchester recently; and Solon Hamblin of this city; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Atkins, of Dell Rapids, South Dakota.Mr. Hamblin was a successful farmer, and by hard work and careful management he had acquired a neat competence, and at the time of his death he was the owner of one of the best large farms in Milo township. He was a kind and devoted husband and father, and honorable in all of the dealings with his neighbors and friends.His death comes with crushing force to the wife and children, who cared for him so tenderly during his many weeks' of painful illness.
