"After nearly 4 score and 10 years, Israel Swope closed the book of life and answered "It is well." Mr. Swope was born in Ohio and resided there until the spring of 1880 when he moved with his family to Knob Noster.
"He went to Delta, Colorado, in 1916 and lived with his daughter, Mrs. O. H. Penticuff, until his death which occurred July 1, 1920. He was 86 years old.
"He is survived by 3 sons and 4 daughters, Will Swope of Lamar, Colorado, Lewis Swope of Cimron, Colorado, Bert Swope of Fresno, Cal., Mrs. Mary Coupland, Denver, Colorado, a brother, Samuel Swope of Knob Noster. Another daughter, Mrs. Ed Meredith, died some months ago. He was laid to rest in the Delta Cemetery."
