Sherry Lorraine Strahl was born July 16, 1938 in Cochrane, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerald and Doris Strahl. She was a graduate of Preston High School in Preston, Minnesota. In Preston she married Wendell John Anstett on January 25, 1957. The couple resided in Rochester, and from the early 1970s until about 1983 Mrs. Anstett worked at Schmidt Printing. She was a scout leader with the Girl Scouts of America for more than twenty-five years. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. In earlier years she enjoyed playing softball. She also enjoyed bowling, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and spending time in the boundary waters and the North shore. She was also an avid fan of NASCAR.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell Anstett, of Rochester; two daughters, Debra Anstett of Rochester, and Jeannine Anstett of Saint James; a son, Dale (Patricia) Anstett of Harris; a granddaughter, Carly; three sisters, Patricia (Delvin) Nelson, Dixie (Conrad) Aug, and Bettie (Robert) Gulbranson, all of Preston; a brother, Tom (Diane) Strahl of Harmony; and a dear friend, Mary Colbenson of Saint James.
She was preceded in death by a brother; a sister; and a son, Lee Allen Anstett.
Visitation, with no reviewal, will be Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Rochester Chapel. The visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
