Lila Watters, 83, of Pekin, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Hallmark Nursing Center in Pekin, Illinois.


Born June 6, 1925 in rural Fulton County to Clarence and Wayne (Crable) Wherley, she married Jesse B. Daly in San Diego. He preceded her in death. She later married Dave Watters who also preceded her in death.


Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Boyd of Pekin; one sister Kelli Boynton of Pekin, and one brother Larry (Donna) Wherley of Frankfort, IL.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, and two sons Adrian and Stewart.


Lila first worked as a librarian for Pekin Public Library; she later retired as a Deputy Circuit Clerk for Tazewell County after many years of service. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She also was a former member of Sunset Country Club and Canton Country Club where she loved to golf.


Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
