Aaron Estabrook was born in Elizabethtown, Essex county, New York, December 18, 1832. At the age of eight years he came west with his parents to Newark, Licking county, Ohio.

In 1842 he came to Iowa, landing in Bellevue, Jackson county, May 24. He came all the way by water from the eastern part of New York to Bellevue and settled near where the city of Maquoketa now stands.

In 1847 he moved to Dubuque county, was there married to Margaret Fierstine October 21, 1858. Of this union four children were born, Geo. R., who died at Marshalltown, Iowa, Aug 20, 1908; Mrs. Laura Hamblin, now of Manchester, Iowa; Mrs. Nettie Henry, of Evanston, Illinois, and Mrs. Jennie Parker of Waterloo, Iowa. In 1863 he came to Delaware county and settled on a farm near Manchester, where Mrs. Estabrook died April 29, 1893. In the fall of 1893 he had a sale and went to Marshalltown, Iowa, to live with his son, but not liking the change he returned to Manchester and has since made his home with the different children. For the last seven months he has been bedfast at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Solon Hamblin in this city, and death came not unexpected January 6th, 1911.
