HEART ATTACK BLAMED FOR DEATH
Harvey R. Brittain, 60, Philomath, whose body was found in a log pond at the North Side Lumber Co. in Philomath yesterday, died of a heart attack, an autopsy showed.
The son of Charles Brittain and Evelyn Rogers, he was born Nov. 9, 1907, at Mineral, Idaho. He came to Oregon as a young boy and settled in the Bellfountain community.
He served in the US ARMY from 1930 until 1932. After his discharge he was married to Nellie Putney Nov. 4, 1932, at Salmon, Idaho.
In 1934 the couple returned to Bellfountain where Mr. Brittain was employed by the Hull-Oak Lumber Co. until 1956 when they moved to Philomath. For the past 10 years he had been employed by North Side Lumber Co
Besides his wife, Nellie, he is survived by four sons and three daughters, one brother and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services for the long-time Benton County resident will be held at the chapel of the McHenry Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Spicer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Bellfountain Cemtery.
