Private burial will be Friday afternoon at Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery in Houston.
Mr. Semmes died March 31, 2009, in Tyler,
He was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Palestine to the late Bernard Louis and Hazel Fowler Semmes.
Mr. Semmes served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Cameron Iron Corp., and had resided in Houston for 50 years, moving to Brownsboro in 2001.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Tammany and Troy Thomas; sons and daughters-in-law, Herb Jr. and Jan Semmes, Allen and Debbie Gordon, Jason and Samantha Semmes; grandchildren, Christen Fritsche, Todd, and Brittany Fritsche; four great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde Crow; and numerous nephews and nieces, and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Brownsboro.
