A. L. "Buster" Marcantel, 44 was a prominent Kinder businessman and brother of Bernard Marcantel, the Jeff Davis Parish district attorney. Mr. Marcantel died at 8:05 pm Friday, November 11, 1960 in the Kinder hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Marcantel was a native of Allen parish and for the past 15 years had owned and operated the Marcantel Department Store in Kinder. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus Council of Kinder. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Chachere of Kinder, three sons, one daughter, his mother Mrs. Emile Marcantel of Oberlin; three brothers, Bernard Marcantel of Jennings, Ernest Marcantel of Smithtown, NY and Lionel Marcantel of OBerlin.
