Married October 30, 1913

Birth 17 Dec 1895 in Wataga, Crabtree County, North Carolina
Death 27 Sep 1981 in Community Hospital, Lee's Summit, Jackson County, Missouri

Bio:

Rosa Jane Bowman and her twin sister, Nora Idabelle Bowman, were born on 17 December 1895 in North Carolina but came to Missouri in April 1904 when they were nine years old with their parents, Roby Columbus Bowman and Mary Susan Reed. They settled in Laclede County in the Goodwin Hollow area and remained in that area the rest of their lives.

Rosa Jane Bowman was a beautiful seventeen year old girl when she married Laud Allen Partlow on 30 October 1913 in Laclede County. Her spouse was the son of Robert Dean Partlow and Mary Evans. Rosa and her husband, Laud Allan Partlow, were Baptists and reared their children in that church. They joined High Point Baptist Church in 1917. They had two daughters -- Edith in 1918 and Eithel in 1920, a stillborn son in 1916, then stillborn twin boys -- Bobbie Lee and Billie Dean Partlow, in 1939.

Rosa was an excellent wife, mother, cook and housekeeper. Her daughter Edith recalls that her mother's floors were always so clean that you could eat off of them.

Rosa and her sister were not identical twins. Nora Partlow Mitchell and her husband, Carl, remained in the Lebanon area her entire life and are buried in the Goodwin Cemetery.

The twin boys were buried in Lebanon Cemetery, and their parents were later buried beside them there. Rosa died 27 September 1981 at age 85 in Lee's Summit Community Hospital; her husband, Laud, had died 1 July 1960 at age 60 in Baptist Hospital in Kansas City. They were living near Kansas City at the time of their deaths, close to their daughter, Edith, but both were returned to their home county for burial.
