Born in Memphis, Tennessee, she was a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and was a resident of Knoxville 54 years before moving to Austin last spring. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Chester H. Crider.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Chester H. Jr., and Kitty Crider of Austin; and daughter Carolyn Reed of Knoxville; grandchildren, Bart and Keith Crider of Austin, Kimberly Tipton, Tina Dockery and Tron Reed, all of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Josh and McKayalla Tipton, Knoxville; sister, Kathryn Miller of Memphis, Tennessee; and brother, Walter Smith of Sonara, California.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Knoxville Library Fund or to the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board for its World Hunger Program.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville.
