Salisbury for 15 years or more and their children were born out of wedlock. She left him about 1905 and took the children with her. In 1910 the children were living with their half brother Charlie Salisbury in Attleboro, Massachusetts, working in a cotton mill. He then obtained the services of housekeeper by the name of Annie Leonard. She remained with him as housekeeper for about 17 years and up to the time of his death. He died March 24, 1922 of Bronchial Pneumonia.
