UNION – Services for Mr. Charles "Bill" Boswell will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mark Vincent and Ben McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the Union City Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Boswell, 71, of Decatur, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his residence. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard for more than 35 years. He will be remembered as a very special husband and loving father and grandfather. He received great joy by caring and helping others. He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Smith Boswell, of Decatur; one son, Richard Boswell and his wife Jane, of Union; two granddaughters, Jessica McDaniel and her husband John, of Philadelphia, and Julie Boswell, of Union; one sister, Lona Boswell Johnson, of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother-in-law, Cecil Ivy, of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Boswell; three sisters, Ruby Neal, Sue Ivy, Gertrude Myrick; and one brother, Felton Boswell. Pallbearers will be Jackie Knight, Tommie Keith, Jerry Neal, Ricky Myrick, Mark Spence, Bill Boyd, and Nick Carpenter. Visitation will be today, from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
